IMPORTANT UPDATE:
As of 3:30pm MDT on March 27th, 2020 Alberta is on lockdown including non-essential retail stores and auctions. Bear with us as we try to adapt to this news quickly. Most payment, pickup and shipping details have changed and are listed below accordingly.
Please watch for future updates as this may change again.
-The March and April auctions will still continue unless situations change.
-No in-house viewing is permitted. Extended walkthrough videos are available on www.wardsauctions.com
PAYING:
-The standard online buyers premium of 20% will still apply for Email Transfer payments. An extra 3% surcharge is added for credit card payments.
**Read personal note below regarding buyers premium
-All invoices must be paid online by April 2nd through Email Transfer or iCollector credit card.
PICKUP:
-As of 3:30pm MDT on Friday March 27th you cannot pick up your items because of risk of transmitting or contracting COVID-19. This comes with a $1000 charge by the RCMP.
-All Millwork Shop items will be moved to our warehouse and will be available for pickup at our location when it is legally permitted.
-There are no storage fees or deadlines for picking up your items. They can stay as long as required without penalty.
SHIPPING:
-NOTE: It's unclear right now if there will be restrictions on shipping. We will hold all items in free storage until we are sure they can be shipped.
-All items are shipping by Canada Post.
-Items too large to ship by Canada Post (furniture, etc) are the responsibility of the buyer to arrange shipping.
** Many people have asked for a discounted buyers premium because the option to bid in-house is unavailable. I want to be upfront and explain that, unfortunately, a discount cannot be given. I will explain quickly.
Any item sold online through iCollector costs us extra. iCollector takes that extra fee as payment for providing the service as well as an initial setup fee. This also helps pay for the extra staff hours it takes to setup a sale online behind the scenes.
After doing the math it just isn't a feasible option for this auction. That may change for future auctions (which we will hopefully be able to have in the near future) but I cannot predict it now.
I want to be clear that the extra 5% buyers premium does not go into our pocket as profit. It merely covers the cost of running the auction online.
I appreciate everyone's understanding and I hope we can get through the next few months still and host more auctions into the future. We will do everything we can to weather this storm. - Michael Ward
